We are assisting a top-tier engineering contractor specialising in delivering high-quality services for a variety of industries in their search for an experienced Data Centre Planning Lead to oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of data centre projects, from concept to completion. As an ideal candidate you will have extensive experience in data centre operations, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the technical and logistical aspects of data centre planning. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements: 

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans for data centre construction by creating and maintaining project schedules, ensuring that all activities are logically sequenced and aligned with overall project timelines. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that resources are allocated efficiently & meet the project demands. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all planning-related matters, facilitating communication between the project team, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders ensuring that all parties are informed of project status, changes, and critical milestones. 

  • Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact project timelines or budgets to eliminate/minimise delays and ensure the successful delivery of projects. 

  • Monitor the progress of data centre projects, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones and present regular progress reports to senior management and clients, highlighting relevant issues, risks, and corrective actions. 

  • Ensure that all planning and execution activities adhere to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.  

  • Participate in meetings as required and contribute to the best of your knowledge. 

  • Degree/qualifications in Project Management or related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience in project planning, managing large-scale projects in M&E contracting. 

  • 3+ years Primavera P6 software experience is desirable. 

  • Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including HVAC systems. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on proactive risk management and issue resolution.
